Afterglow Lake Resort, 2008 The beginning of the week was warm but wasn't a terribly hot summer. Nothing stopped them from getting into the lake though. Lots of fishing, swimming, and sand slinging fun! There were s'more's at the fire each night, flashlight fun and outdoor activities everywhere you turned. Elliot especially liked the bici-bi's. Jordan loved going out on the boats and even got in some fishing! Amanda was a water bug and had some great fun at the swing set! Jack loved to catch fish and cast his bobber off the peer. Brian, Jack and myself were hooked by at some point during our fishing adventures. He took a digger with his clogs (last time we'll have those :) and gets the drama award for the trip! Uncle Danny gave him a time out and afterward was promptly scolded by Jack to never give him a time out again!
Brian made it in for 24 hours! We picked him up at Reinlander Airport where dad and I saw a bear along the way!!! We were in the water most of the day, well the guys and kids were and everyone's lips were chattering and turning blue by the time they got out. But they assured us they weren't cold! Everyone else sat on the beach and, of course, ate and drank and watched.
The expert fisherman. Brian was taught how to take a fish off the hook...by his wife. Jordan caught his fish and then was more interested in the motor than the actual fishing! The engineers son :) I think the winner of the day was a 4 inch blue gill. What a whopper!

A moment daddy got some time one his own! Elliot's best friend was daddy the whole trip. He was fine on his own unless he had the daddy senses out...thank goodness for Dan he still takes naps!
